I made it long ago, in 1988.
Plug it in, and it slowly spins, making random tinkling and clanging and rattling noises.
I loved it, and so did the owner.
She had to move house often, for different jobs.
Packed it carefully to carry in her car, plugged it in again.
But then one of the belt drives broke, some of the tinkling mechanisms stopped working, and, the final disaster, the support column broke.
The owner was moving again, this time to live in a much smaller place. She asked me to store it and, if possible, to mend it.
A job to really enjoy. I've got it solidly mended ... just waiting for a couple of new belt drives and it should be as good as new.
I'm loving having it back.
