Forest of Shadows
These paintings are inspired by the shelter belt my grandfather planted on the farm where I grew up in central Kansas.
The trees were to be cut down at various times to use as fence posts around the fields on the farm.
As a child, this section of woods was an incredible playground for me where anything was possible.
I always thought of it as my 'Magical Forest' and spent hours exploring, imagining, creating stories and wonderlands full of adventure and fun.
It continued to be a magical place for me my whole life.
I had to sell my family farm that had been in our family for around 150 years this summer.
These paintings were a way for me to hold on to the magic that this wonderful place has given to me my whole life.
I hope it brings some magic to your day also!
