Helen has lived most of her life in New Mexico, USA.
During early adulthood, she lived in various places, but returned to New Mexico.
Her family is the second generation to live in the family home on the Pecos River, which also houses her studio.
Art and the daily routines of living are integrated.
Her creative history includes printmaking, and a life-long involvement with fibers.
Her current concentration of works are expressed in watermedia on paper with collage and embellishments.
She also likes to play and create with clay.
Helen’s works have been recognized in national and international exhibits, one person shows, published in art magazines and books and are represented in outstanding collections.
Her basic artist's statement is: “Art is a weft that adorns, holds together and vitalizes the strands of life.
Even in the simplest tasks and the plainest objects, there is meaningful poignancy.
Whether I'm seeing listening, reading, recovering, scouring, relating, regressing or creating, I continually encounter fabulous TRUTH.
I take from and attempt to add to the vast richness of human life.”
