|This piece is part of a duo illustrating different types of human strength and
fragility using images and safety glass from a car mirror broken during an accident.|
This piece displays obvious, physical strength. The glass represents the unseen fragility of high performing
athletes from the intensity of the demands on their bodies. It also represents the mental fragility that spurs
humans to enhance outward signs of strength when their strength - or character - has been questioned or
even if they only suspect it is lacking.
This is juxtaposed by the other piece featuring a Geisha image - outwardly fragile but takes much internal
strength to achieve and maintain.
